General Information

Born in Milan on May 17th 1968.

Resident in Viale Indipendenza 58, 27100 Pavia, Italy.

Degrees Laurea summa cum laude in Electronics Engineering from University of Pavia on January 30th 1992.

Ph. D. in Technical Sciences from ETH Zurich, Switzerland on January 24th, 1996, with the thesis "CMOS Thermoelectric Sensor Interfaces", Tutor Prof. Dr. H. Baltes, Coreferent Prof. F. Maloberti.

Present position: Associate Professor at University of Pavia, Department of Electrical, Computer, and Biomedical Engineering since January 1st 2002.

Former positions: Research assistant of Prof. Dr. H. Baltes at the Physical Electronics Laboratory of ETH Zurich, Switzerland form October 5th 1992 to June 24th 1996; Assistant Professor at University of Pavia, Department of Electrical Engineering from June 25th 1996 to December 31st 2001.

Scientific Activities

The scientific activity of Piero Malcovati is concentrated in the field of analog, digital and mixed analog/digital integrated circuits and systems for signal processing and measuring systems. In particular the activity is focused on design and characterization of interface circuits for microsensors, data converters and telecommunications circuits. Other Scientific Activities

Piero Malcovati coordinated technically and administratively a number of national and international research projects. In particular he was involved in the management of several European Commission (NETCARITY, GOSPEL, MagIC, ABACUS, IASY, BRA3SIC), MEDEA (KEOPE, Anastasia, Anastasia+), PRIN, and FIRB projects.

Piero Malcovati is Senior Member of IEEE.
